View and Record TV :

TV. Never miss a show—your PC can be your Digital Video Recorder to record TV

Watch Live TV, Pause live TV, Record live TV. Choose between analogue TV, DigitalTV via terrestrial, cable-TV, satellite-TV, IPTV and webTV.

Get away from just being stuck on recording one or two channels... now you can record many channels at once (depends on your tuner) using Windows 7 MediaCenter.

Works with any standard signal, from a basic antenna to cable, digital cable and satellite. You can even use your PC while programmes are recording in the background.

Easily discover what's on, by channel or time, using the built-in Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) with no service fees, or use the new Movie Finder to browse films to record by time, release date, rating, actor and so much more. It's like having your local rental store and a movie guide all in one place and with no service fees.

Guide

Guide. Use your all-in-one guide to find your favourite programmes. Save time with searches by keyword, title, or actors. ¦Schedule recordings up to two weeks in advance. ¦Record one show or a whole series to watch anytime

Tuners. So why lots of different options for tuners? Well, its all down to preference. We have listed below the various options so you know which tuner to go for....
  • Single Tuner  - This is for one TV tuner only (will only record one channel at a time... so if you are watching a program then you can't record any other apart from that one). This is for Freeview only and connects directly to your antenna cable.
  • Dual Tuner - This allows you to record two channels at once. This is for Freeview only and connects directly to your antenna cable. (if you want to record on 4 channels then select two Dual Tuners in the options)
  • Pinaccle Dual Freeview/Analogue PCI-E TV tuner -This allows you to record two channels at once. This is for Freeview only and connects directly to your antenna cable. You can also use its included analogue tuner instead which will allow you to connect other devices such as a Sky Box or Cable Box. It would then work in the same way as the HVR 1200 Tuner.
  • HVR 1200 Tuner (or similar) - This will allow you to connect your Sky Box or Virgin Box directly into your Tuner in the media centre. This will then allow you to watch Sky or Cable TV on your Media Centre HTPC - even being able to record the programs so you can watch them back later. However - this will only record one channel at a time unless you get two of these tuners which will then allow recording of two channels.
  • Hauppauge Nova-S-Plus Satellite Card - This will allow you to watch Sky free to air services, ie. all the available free channels that Sky broadcast without the need for a subscription card. Your antenna cable goes in directly from the dish to this tuner in the back of the media centre... so you do not need a Sky Box. You can use Microsoft MediaCenter with this tuner to see your Sky channels and record. This is single tuner only... so you can only record / watch on one channel at a time.
  • Hauppauge Nova-HD-S2 High Def Satelitte - This will do the same as the above but with this you will get the HD channels also. If you want Freesat then you can use the software that comes with it to see all the freesat channels.
  • Additional Tuners: You can also opt for more than one of the above tuners or if you are going for a slim line device then you will be offered a USB option such as a Single or Dual Tuner. If you can't find the device you require then please email us at Sales@MediaCenter-tv.co.uk

Watch SKY.

There are two different ways to watch Sky. One is using the SKY inbult player over the internet in MediaCenter and the other way is to have a Sky tuner installed.

  • Sky Player

Included in Windows 7 Media Center is Sky Player. This means that there is no Dish needed, no Sky Box needed and no annual contract.

Non Sky customers can use Sky Player by subscribing for as little as only one month. Just register for a Sky iD and then opt for a package that best suits your needs.

Sky Customer? Then just get your online ID and then your away - now you can watch Sky on your Media PC and can use this method on up to 4 Media PC's!

Sky Player
  • Sky Tuner

If you opt for a Sky Tuner to go into your Media Centre HTPC, then you will be able to get Sky broadcast TV. There are several different tuners available, all with different funcionalities. The ones we use will enable you to watch either Sky Free to Air, Freesat, or even CI Tuners that will enable you to use a subscription card. If you want the CI tuner option then please email us for more info.
