What
does it do?
A Media Centre is basically a PC, but instead of
a tower as you normally seen, this is a unit that
looks more like audio equipment.
These are prepared to run quietly, with cooling fans
that make little noise. They also have HDMI capabilities
which means you can easily plug them into TV's.
The cases normally come with a built in infra-red
receiver - which means what you can point the remote
control at the unit to change channel etc.

Copy
your DVD's

So you have a pile of 200+ DVD's, and your wondering
where you are going to fit the next batch you are
going to buy? Well, instead of cluttering up your
living room - how about the loft?
But how will I watch my DVD's?
With a Media Centre PC, all you have to do is pop
the DVD in, and using software like AnyDVD it will
automactially copy the movie over to your hard drive
for you. So now you can choose and watch what DVD
movie you want to view without leaving your seat! |
View Photo's

Everybody has a digital camera these days, even those
with mobile phones.
So where do you put all those memories that you would
like to store forever?
All you have to do is pop your camera memory card
into a card reader connected to a Media Centre, and
the mediacenter software copies it automatically to
your hard drive.
Now grab your remote, sit on your sofa, and enjoy
the slide show! |
